Views of the City
Whether you are a first-timer or repeat visitor, there are always new ways to appreciate the metropolis we call home. Here are our picks for where to go for the most breathtaking views of Toronto.
Canoe Perched on the 54th floor of the TD Bank Tower, Canoe offers one of the most elegant and elevated dining experiences in the city. With sweeping views over downtown Toronto, the waterfront and beyond, this restaurant is as much about the scenery as it is about the food. Whether you’re watching a golden hour sunset or the city light up at night, as you dine, you’ll have a refined vantage point from your table at Canoe.
Riverdale Park Grab a hot beverage from Rooster Coffee House and enjoy it as you walk north up Broadview and look to the east for a dramatic city view.
CN Tower The crown jewel of the Toronto skyline, the CN Tower is perhaps our most famous landmark and the best views of the city likely come from inside the tower, up 1800 feet. You can book a table at 360 Restaurant for drinks and food with those incomparable views, or for the adventurous: hold on tight with the Edge Walk that takes you soaring above the skyline as you walk along the edge of the tower.
Humber Bay Shores This picturesque spot in the city's West End is a favourite of cyclers, joggers and photographers. You can view the skyline from the area's iconic arch bridge, or venture into Humber Bay Park .
Casa Loma A prime example of modern Toronto’s commitment to its rich history, Casa Loma was built in 1914 by financier Sir Henry Pellatt and is now owned by the City of Toronto and regarded as a treasured heritage landmark. Located in midtown, Casa Loma has to be one of the most charming destinations in Toronto that also happens to have an excellent south- facing view of the city. And who doesn’t love a good castle backdrop for photos?
The Toronto Islands Some will say the best views of the city are actually from the collection of islands just off the mainland in Lake Ontario. Catch one of the island ferries from Jack Layton Ferry Terminal downtown and whether you walk, bike or paddle your way around, there are numerous viewpoints to be found along the islands’ shores.
